So I noticed the other day that the hose going form the FEL joystick to the block below the floorboard, sorry I don't know the actual name of the parts, has a worn spot on it. It's going to blow or start leaking soon.

I stopped by the new local dealer Friday, he will have to order the hose. I couldn't remember exactly which one it was. He printed out the scamatic for me and it shows the FEL joystick and everything that goes along with it is on the left but mine is on the right, aren't all of them on the right? I questioned it with him but kinda looked at me like I had two heads. Keep in kind the new dealer sells boats, atvs, cars etc... for what it's worth.

Does it matter that the dealer shows the hose on the left? Doesn't matter to me as long as the hose fits, I just don't want to go thru the hassle of ordering the wrong one.

Can I the hose get at the farm store or are they specific to kubota?

Is there anything special I need to do to change the hose and will I loose a lot of fluid in the process?

Thanks Ben

You can take the existing hose to an auto parts store that makes hoses and have them duplicate it.
To remove the hose: With the tractor off and the bucket on the ground rotate the joystick through all position to relief the hydraulic pressure before removing the hose. You can then remove the hose with minimal loss of fluid.
To install the new hose: You can use pipe dope (some of the newer ones with PTFE are good) or some of the more exotic (and expensive) sealants. The auto parts store should have both kinds of sealant and may make a recommendation.

I've seen tractors with the loader valve mounted on the left side tower. I think they were owned by left handed operators, and changed the location of the valve rather then using their off hand.

I bought a tractor with the valve on the left side, and I was going to mount it on the right side, but I sold the tractor before I began!!

Ben, the best advice by far is take off the hose and bring it to an auto parts store that makes up hydraulic hoses. They'll match the end fittings and length so it fits correctly.
