one thing ive learned recently the hardway is when your trenching you need to plan well with the bh92. tractors dont cross trenches the way you can with an excavator

I had to go pick up a new deck belt for my Scag mower the other day and they had a new Wacker Neusom EZ26 sitting outside for sale. Sure was purty! $49,000 purty!

So I worked out a deal with my Kubota dealer and am going to trade-in the BH92 for a new KX-033-4 cab mini-excavator. I ordered it with the angled blade, hyd. quick coupler, hyd. thumb, and 3 different size buckets (trenching, digging and grading). I chose the KX033 over the KX040 due to the smaller footprint and it will be easier to move between my farm and my friend's farm on the other side of town. Just for fun, I also had him run some numbers on what it would cost to add a Steelwrist tiltrotator, since I saw a guy on YouTube do some pretty amazing things with that attachment, but it adds another 60% to the price of the machine! That's too big a bite for me, especially since this is only going to be for my personal use on the farm.
They have the machine and buckets in stock, but the hyd. quick coupler is going to take some time since they don't have one on hand and I'm assuming that takes a bit of shop time to get installed. I will post some photos when it arrives.

The 33 is a little beast. I rode one for quite a while at the plumbing company until I got my U-27. The owner sold the machine (I had considered buying it from him since my ass had been in it most of the time) but thought it was just a tad bit too heavy for me to comfortably tow. I think the cabbed version with angle blade is pushing close to #8,500 with thumb and hydraulic coupler. Add another #500 for 3 buckets.
I wish mine had A/C. the 33 is the first in the lineup that gets A/C with the cab.

Thanks. I signed the paperwork today. I won’t have the machine for a couple of weeks (fortunately, the hydraulic quick coupler is available in the warehouse, but will still need to be installed).

I suspect you will find the X to be superior for the tasks.

thanks again! When I bought this farm, I didn’t realize how important my PTO implements would become, nor did I foresee how mini trenching, grading, and foundation digging was in front of me. I also didn’t appreciate the work involved in swapping out the BH92. This is further complicated because my right arm is partially paralyzed. This is a prime example of “I wish I knew then what I know know”. If I did, I wouldn’t have ordered the BH92 to begin with. Not to say it’s not an awesome attachment, but backhoes and excavators serve different needs. I loved the BH77 on my B2601 but I had no need for PTO attachments on my previous property of 1.75 acres
