Hello! First post here! Thanks for the forum! I recently got myself a new Grand L3940 cab tractor. I love the thing. I only have about 50 hours on it so far but its in the running for my most favorite piece of equipment I've owned.

Its pretty loaded out except they neglected to order it with rear remotes. I guess its optional. Anyway, of course, I noticed it beforehand but figured I'd add them later if I turned out to need them. That day has arrived. I recently picked up a really nice Land Pride 3572 box blade that sure would be even better with hydraulics and I'm considering adding a skid steer snow blade to the FEL. Problem is I don't have enough hydraulics for them!
Poking around this forum and Google, I can't really find the part # to the kit I need or details about how big of deal it is to add them to this particular tractor. If I can find an aftermarket valve they are higher than what the dealer wants for the whole thing or close to it, which adds to my confusion.

Any input would be great. Oh, the dealer wants about 800-1000 dollars to add them. I'm pretty handy with a wrench and like to do things myself if it makes sense. For some reason I have terrible luck and end up paying premium for half-arse work. Dunno if any of you have that issue too. But, like I said, if its not a huge deal I end up doing stuff myself if at all possible. Of course, sometimes it doesn't financially make sense to do so. Anyway, thanks in advance for the help and again, thanks for the forum!

I'm guessing that your dealer quoting you $800-$1000 is for a single rear remote, or is that just the labor to install? If you can get all 3 for that, you should jump all over it, 3 should run you about $2125 + installation.

I would be interested to see who is offering rear remotes for your cab tractor other than Kubota, or is you comment about aftermarket sets regarding the 3rd function kits? Kubota's 3rd function should be about $900 for your tractor. You should be able to find an after market 3rd function system from $600-$800 that is every bit as good as the Kubota kit.

Assuming that you want 3 rear remotes for your LP box blade. 2 for a top & tilt setup ($871 from Kubota, $715 after market) and the 3rd for hydraulic actuated rippers???

Please clarify so that more people can help out. ;)

Yes, from what I've been able to locate so far these aftermarket kits are third function kits. As mainly I was seeking a solution for front blade operation at that moment.

I think the reason that the dealer spread the pricing from 800-1000 was it depends on what I end up getting installed. The way I understood it was that a single would run 800 and a top-n-tilt setup would be 1000, parts and labor. I have to take the tractor in this week for some minor warranty work and will get clarity on the remotes. From what you are saying if they can do 3 remotes for a 1000, jump on it. Since all this has been done on the phone so far, I'm sure everything will change in person. For example, when I bought the tractor I was told the 50 hr service was 250-300 dollars. Now that it's time for it - it's 600.

Thanks for the help!

I for one would be VERY interested in hearing what the dealer is going to actually charge. When you get the 3 rear remotes, get 2 of them with the float function for use with the top & tilt set. Most people don't understand why, but there are uses for the function and for the small additional cost, it's better to have it and not need it vs needing it and not having it. ;)

I would think that if you could get the 3rd function ($900)and the 3 rear remotes ($2125) with a top and tilt set ($871) for $3896, that you would actually be getting a deal. That would equal free installation for everything.

Good luck. :)
