I kept the grapple from my BX22 before I sold it. Actually I had removed it when I installed a cab on that tractor, since the control valve for the grapple would require re-engineering its location. I decided that I would install it on my BX23S once I had the Land Pride 3rd function valve installed. I completed that project and moved onto the grapple while I awaited the replacement couplers that arrived, but are wrong. They are headed back to the dealer that sold me the 3rd function valve, in the hope that they will send the correct couplings soon. In the meantime, I purchased a pair of couplings from Summit Hydraulics, that are 1/4" NPT. The hoses use #6 SAE couplings, but those were not available. I was able to get an adapter from #6 female to 1/4" NPT male to attach the Summit couplers to the Land Pride hoses. I deviated from the instructions by adding a 10 amp circuit breaker to the header in the cab, and an illuminated switch to switch power on and off to the 3rd function valve.
I did find that to connect or disconnect to the 3rd function valve if you have a cab heater, you need to open the hood just to get your hand in there. It seems that everything has to go in with a shoe horn!
The grapple was sold by American Solutions, however, when I contacted them, they were no longer making these. Mine was an early prototype that they sent me do do the technical installation instructions with pictures. That was in 2003, and I forgot the instructions when I installed this, so I had to wing it. I put it up higher than it should be because of the bucket hooks that are welded onto the corners of the bucket.
