Tractor newbie (L3200). I have installed a rear blade on the 3 point hitch and I'm surprised that this doesn't dig in deeper even though I have the 3 point lever all the way down. It seems to only scrape based on its own weight rather then digging in. I have the top link almost completely extended, so its not holding it up. Do I have it set up correctly or am I expecting too much from this implement?

Just to doubble check you mean like a snow plow rear blade such as this one below? What exactly are you tryin to do with the rear blade? They do not dig down deep, most popular use is for snow removal.

I have a 5 ft rear blade that I built for the 3 point on my B7100 & it works great on the gravel lane at our cottage. The longer you have your top link, the more aggressive the blade digs in. When the soil is not compacted & a long top link, I can easily fill my blade & lose traction, even with diff. lock engaged. Once I get my rough grading done, I shorten the top link & smooth out the gravel.

This is exactly what I have, I just assumed they were more for grading then for snow removal. That being said I will use it this winter to clear my driveway rather then my snowblower. Is a box blade with claws to dig up the soil/gravel the proper attachment to level a driveway?

yes.
you can work with your blade if the soil or rock is loose but a box blade with scarifier teeth will work better for leveling a hardpacked drive. your blade will work great for snow.

Yes a box blade will do the trick or another option is a utility grader or grader scpaper. I hear this works quite will in leveling ground.
