Hi all. First I am new to tractors. I have a land pride RCR1860 bush hog with floating top link. I also just bought a quick hitch from northern tools. How do I hook up the floating top link to the quick hitch? It does not want to stay in the hook on the quick hitch. What am I missing or doing wrong?

rlk4015 - What was your solution? I see no one replied to your question. I have a new tractor with the same RCR1860 and am considering the Northern Tools or Harbor Freight quick hitch and have the same question. I can get the land Pride Quick hitch with a floating top link option but for 3 times the money.

Move the floating link to the rear of the A-frame.

Re: Quick Hitch and floting top link

My dealer had no clue about the optional floating top link kit for the Land Pride Quick Hitches. I ordered one with my QH15 as 2 of my implements are in the list of those requiring it. From the manual:https://www.landpride.com/ari/attach/lp/public/manuals/320-014m.pdf

The Floating Top Link Kits are designed to adapt the
Category l & ll Quick-Hitches to implements that need to
float about the upper hitch and lower hitch points during
operation. Implements with gauge wheel(s) usually
require a Floating Top Link. These kits are designed to
adapt to the following Land Pride products:
Category ll Floating Top Link
• Rotary Cutters:
Series RCR1884, RCR2596, RCR2510, RCRM2510 &
RCR26
Category l Floating Top Link
• Flat Deck Grooming Mowers:
Series FD15, FDR15, FDR1660, FDR1672, FD25,
FDR25 and FDR3590 after S/N 294658
• Air Tunnel Grooming Mowers:
Series AT25, AT26 & AT35
• Rotary Cutters:
Series RC15, RCR15, RCR16, RCR18, RCR2560,
RCR2596, RCR2572, RCR2660 & RCR2672
• Power Rake:
Series PR16, PR25
• Seeders:
Series OS15 w/front roller, PS15 & APS15

However, looking at both my RCR1860 and FDR1660 they both have pivoting upper hitches. So I have not picked it up yet. That makes it look like that would suffice for floating but I see others say that their attachments bind the PTO drive shaft at full articulation. So perhaps I need the kit after all? I have FitRite's TnT kit on order so have 2 rear remotes, one being a float detent. That might have nothing to do with weather or not I need the kit. All my attachments are Land Pride and QH compatible but I am a bit peeved that my dealer has no idea if I need the kit or not.

Does anyone have the Floating Top link kit for their LP Quick Hitch?

I have the Kubota floating top link for my QH10. I ordered it from Messick for 1/2 what local dealer. I used my LP shredder a couple times using a different setup & the Kubota made things easier.
