Questions Hyd Trans Filter Screen , Small Orange Tracs

Friends:

I'm slowly becoming orange . Now own a G4200 plus the M4700.

The G4200HST is outfitted with a transmission filter screen . I can't back it out to clean the screen. What is size of external nut on screen ? It appears to be either 24 mm or 26 mm. The screen is common to many small Kubota models .

Is there a problem with using an impact wrench to back it off ? It appears the threads are further inside .

I would avoid the impact, to easy to round it off.
Just use a beaker bar and cheater pipe to break it loose.

Might also soak it with a penetrant for a few hours. I like Aerokroil made by Kano.

Already rounded it off some -- my metric tools stop at 22 mm so before posting I had already tried nearest SAE and cheater bar. Hence ,my question about size of socket ; guess I will buy both 24 & 26 mm .

The hex size is 26mm but 1 1/16 will almost always work especially if your socket is 6 point.

Have you considered hitting retaining plug squarely with a big hammer several times?
