Sherman,
The standard pto shafts are 1 3/8 inches and spin at 540 rpm with six splines. There are also some impliments that are designed for 1000 rpm but they run a 20 spline shaft. I think there are two different size shafts 1 3/8 and 1 3/4 inches. We run 1000 rpm shafts on the mowers. Hope this helps.

Have to agree with 1 3/8" being the size you need if it is 6 splines.

If you have a local Tractor Supply or any farm dealer you can buy several kinds of adapters and PTO ends (you only need one) to test it for fit. Then return the part to the store for a refund.

Going to a store will also educate you on the possible choices for a correct fit-up.
