I think I already know the answer to this question but I wanted to check and make sure I'm right. I have a BX2370 with drive over deck. I bought a tiller a couple of weeks ago. Do I have to take the mower deck off to use the tiller? I think that if I lock the deck up and put the pto lever in the rear position I can use the tiller. I just have to watch for ground clearance on the mower deck right. Also will it be too light in the front without the loader or do I need to put the loader on too? Thanks

My son inlaw does that and he ends up with a lot of ground on the deck that's thrown up by the front tires (4 years 2 belts). He doesn't have a loader but he uses 4 suitcase weights, so you'll have to try it to find out.

I would just pull the deck off to till,, it will make life a lot easier for you, and no I doubt very much if it will be to light in the front end, at least not when your tilling. Just remember when you get in to where you want to till take it slow! Let it sink in about an inch or 2 and till up all the grass and loosen up the top, then again dropping it down another inch or 2 depending on how hard packed it is. Keep doing it untill your all the way down, and then run through it a couple times. After that you should be good to go,, remember slow and easy

Thanks for the replies. I have already tilled it up like you said Skeets a little bit each pass. I was just wondering about tilling the weeds between the rows in the summer time. You wouldn't have to go as deep.

Yep, pull the deck. First time I tilled, I didn't. What a messy deck to clean up.
