PTO clutch

Anybody run a Kubota L3901 with a LA525 loader and Land Pride RCR1660 on it? Bush hogging yesterday and the PTO started clicking under load, only when the cutter bites thick stuff, and today I noticed a little weeping at the rear PTO shaft seal, not dripping though. Fluids all checked fine, no metal on the drain magnet. Wondering if it's the PTO clutch pack going or just needs regreasing since I've slacked on that this season. Anyone dealt with this on a Grand L series and rode it out versus taking it straight to the dealer, trying not to lose the tractor during hay season but also don't want to wreck the gearbox.

Does the cutter have a “shear bolt” or is it a “slip clutch” design?

The L3901 is a "standard L " not a "Grand L" and there is no PTO " clutch pack" on a L3901.

The PTO clutch on the L3901 is a "dog clutch". If it is slipping in the drive direction its mechanically damaged. Are you sure the implement drive shaft is not whats slipping?
