Having problems on my 9540 with power steering getting harder to turn steering wheel. Any thoughts? Is there a filter on that system? If so where? Thnx Tim961

The oil for the steering on a M9540 is from the main hyd. system, there is a priority valve that send the oil to the steering motor. Check the easiest things first, lift your front wheels off the ground and see if the steering gets easier. If it doesn't you might have an issue with rust build up in the steering column making it hard to turn the steering shaft. If that is the case you will have to remove the steering wheel ( be careful as the splines might be rusted also) removed the top rubber bushing from the column, clean the shaft where the bushing rides, clean the inside of the bushing (or buy a new one) and reassemble.
