Just had to replace the clutch on my L4701DT, "guy in his garage" did the job for me, too in depth for me to tackle. Now that I got it back and ran it this past weekend, I noticed a few things that seemed different or I just never noticed before. When I turn the ignition key to on, the fuel pump runs and I could of sworn it would shut off after 10-30seconds, now it will run until I turn the key to off. Can't hear if it goes off when I turn the tractor on. Is this right or did a wire get switched up? The next issue, which is more concerning to me, going between forward and reverse seems really difficult now, it feels real tight and the lever is hard to move. If I take the tractor out of one of the 4 gears it will move easily into forward or reverse, but I though you should be able to leave it in 2nd gear for example and go from forward to reverse?

I don't think there is anything wrong with the fuel pump.

It sounds like the clutch isn't disengaging all the way and that is why you are having problems moving from forward to revers. You should be able to push the clutch in and move the lever.

How much free travel does clutch control mechanism/pedal have?
Not much, feels tighter than before the replacement. So if the clutch is not fully disengaging should I be able to adjust the clutch to make it tighter, so it fully disengages?

You know it has to have at least SOME free play. If that is minimal already and it still won't fully release with pedal fully down, the problem is deeper than simple adjustment.
