?How does a Piranha bar handle rocky soil?
My ground is riddled with small and some very large deep rocks and I have been on the fence on ordering one. I have a Ratchet Rake that pops small to mid sized surface rocks if I have enough RPM's but it is not designed to dig.
My goal is to level a pad for a new outbuilding. I will be putting it on a L48 bucket. BTW, the L48 has a backhoe that has occasional trouble with digging in rocky area's. If the backhoe can't do it will the Piranha work?

it will dig rocks much better that a standard bucket - as the teeth slide in and under, the rock will pop up. However - once the rock get so big - there is not much it will help with.

I think you will find it to be a huge asset - rocks, or anything else.

peeling turf & uprooting young trees.. tooth bar is awesome!

popping up rocks? its good if the ground is soft enough to get under it..

but if its hard ground? you might wanna get one of those rock poppers instead.

its much narrower & lets you stab it in the ground a lot easier.

If hoe want get it i don't think the piranah bar will do it. I have one on my L2800 and it works well but it isn't a bull dozer.

Steve, Here is a picture of some rocks that I dug up using my BX1860 with the PTB. If these are the same size as the rocks you are concerned about, the PTB will definitely do the job. If I had a bigger tractor I am sure that I could get even bigger rocks out of the ground with it.
