After doing a bit of research, I’ve landed on wanting to pick up a set of these pallet forks to use with my B2601. My local dealer has them in stock and the are just a tick under $1k. Is that the going price? I have no frame of reference so figured I’d ask here.

My detail might be a bit dated and not exact same model but maybe as perspective it helps…in May of 2021, I purchased PFL4548 for a list price of $995 (exact price was inside a package deal so I can’t tell you the actual but the cash selling price on BOS was listed as 995. I believe that is a bit heavier set of forks. I am not really sure how much prices have changed but I think it’s not hard to image prices have gone up 30-40% maybe? And then also you could compare weights and make a swag? Just my thought.

I think that's about right. I saved some by buying a Titan frame and some used forks (forks were also in short supply). The Titan doesn't have a back guard, so I have another project waiting on me.
Forks wear and commercial users may have to replace them, but they're still usable for our tractor use. Just be sure you get the right size class. I thought my BIL had an old pair I could use, but his were a larger class.
I paid 1100 Canadian for HlA 42 inch forks a couple of months ago. the website said 650. the dealer just laughed and said the website did not update correctly . as an aside I did not think I would use them much but I am building a tractor shed and use them more than the bucket. As I get older I plan on palletizing fire wood and all the heavy crap I own. right now I use them for saw horses and I made a man lift that comes in very handy. moving lumber very often. I even moved a 8x8 shed onto a cement slab with them and 3 inch pipes

I have that same model on a B2601 and they're excellent, paid $950.
Not the cheapest, but I got the exact model I wanted and the dealer was fabulous to work with. I was very happy with the acquisition!

Pallet forks are a great attachment to have. However, consider the specs. The fork attachment you referred to has a 1200 Lb capacity at 24 inches out from the frame. I would guess that your tractor could lift 650-700 lbs at that point. It would seem that you are paying for capacity you can't use. Additionally, you have have to deduct the "dead load" of the forks from the tractor's capacity to determine the net lift capability. I decided to buy a less expensive alternative from Amazon (about $450.00 with free freight) Yes they have poor fit and finish, and no they do not have adjustable width, but they do what I need done. Every time I look at them doing nothing. I think "well I didn't pay a lot for them".

I have a set of Kubota branded PFL4648 pallet forks. I paid $1,035 for them from the local dealer last year before steel and other prices went crazy. I don't think your quoted price for the PFL1242 model is way off in today's market, and I don't think the 1,200lb rating is inappropriate or excessive for your B2601.
The ones I bought are rated at 4,500lb 24" from the face of the frame so maybe excessively safe for both the MX and the M, but that rating is under very specific conditions that might not be realistic in most situations. The ones you're considering appear to be the lowest rated model and are marketed as "economy" pallet forks so if you stay with LP/Kubota you really don't have anywhere to go but up.

Consider checking at your local equipment rental companies, they sell used equipment. I paid $600.00 for 5500#, with 48 inch forks made by Arrow ( in great shape). I welded on two 3/8" grab hooks on the upmost outboard side. Whichever way you go ensure that the main top bar is machined from a solid piece of metal, some companies weld two pieces together to form the rabbet
Everything is crazy now. I had to go with EAs forks when I bought do to there being nothing around that was priced reasonably and weren't so heavy that it would take away from my lift capacity. Whichever pair you get make sure you check the weight of the forks like stated above and definitely get adjustable forks. I cant tell you how many times I have adjusted mine to pick up various items. I would have been beyond aggrivated if I had something to lift and was unable to do to my forks not being adjustable.
I have the same forks for my B2601 and they are a perfect match and I'm glad I have them they have come in real handy around here.
