Opinions on converting deck to Mulching?

Hi,
New here though I read a lot of posts before buying my BX (2670-1) last year. I mowed one season so far about 3 acres using a 60" mid mount deck with grass catcher and also blew snow last winter (though it was mild winter in Maine).

I am considering converting to a mulching setup and understand Kubota has a kit which under-deck baffling and a door for the exhaust port.

Questions:

• How much did you slow down ground speed when mulching?
• What did you (or did you not) like about the mulching setup?
• What blades did you use? (original, Kubota, Gator, other?)
• any other issues or concerns?

As far as I know... the real mulching kit is only available for the fine cut decks.

With that said... did you have a problem with your standard deck leaving visible clippings? Mine cuts clean, and broadcasts them out where I don't see anything.

Personally... I would take the bagger off, and just see how it works. I only put a bag on my tractor for fall leaves.



Oh... and how do you blow snow with your MMM ??? (LOL)

I have a B262p and they don't offer a mulch kit for it so I put a set of gator blades on the mmm and built a mulch door for it. Here is a link to that post http://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16704

It works pretty good, I keep saying I'm going to build a set of deck baffles, bit it hasn't happened yet.
