Hello all,

Using the tractor today and the oil pressure light came on. Bugger!

Oil level correct but there was a drip drip drip trail i noticed when i parked it up in the barn.

Further examination under the bonnet showed oil coming from the pressure switch.

I presume this could cause the light to come on?

Cheers?

In general, oil pressure switches have a diaphragm to convert pressure to switch action, and electrical connection.

A leaking switch needs replacing.

The greater concern is lost oil which leads to engine life reduction or sudden failure.

Cheers Jim.

Luckily the loss of oil is negligible. I took the switch out and when i blow in the engine side oil comes out of the connector side so i think i can be safe saying the diaphragm is split in there some how.
A replacement is on the way.

Sounds like you'll be fine Carl. I've seen it many times in the automotive world.
