I screwed up an O ring on one of the couplings for my backhoe attachment.
I called the dealer and they say that Kubota doesnt offer reploacement O rings for thier hydraulic fittings. He sent me parts schemeatic and there arent any listed.
Does anyone know where to get these O rings. They arent the sizes normally found??

Hydraulic components are rarely proprietary, except sometimes the controls. Most towns and cities have a number of suppliers of hydraulic components. Hoses, etc., go all the time so you really have to be in the back woods to be in a place where you can't get generic parts. NY state is a big place, but I'd be surprised if you can't google a local vendor. Look for hydraulic fittings or some such.

O rings are even more generic. You might be able to just want into an auto parts stores and say 'one of these please'

There are a million different permutations and combinations of hydraulics bits and pieces, but there is a always a solution. Don't ask if the guy has such and such for a Kubota - won't have a clue what you are talking about. I would bring as much as what I have to your friendly neighbourhood hydraulics guy and say 'please help'. Chances are, he'll either solve your problem by handing you a $0.50 O ring (buy a couple), or suggest an alternative fitting which will do the trick.

So, what I would do is bring my broke part (or whats left of it) and maybe even a good one if I had it.

Good luck and let us know what happens.

I was finally able to track down a supplier who handles the fittings. I didn't want to buy a new fitting because of a missing O ring. They said they could order and take a week. I ordered 6. 10 days later, no o rings. i called them and talked to the guy who sold them to me. He realized he didn't submit the order. He apologized and said he would take care of me at no charge. 3 days later I had 10 new o rings. You cant ask for more than that.

My only concern is that my Kubota dealer and Kubota national parts could not help me at all. Not what i consider good service for an 18K machine that's 6 months old.

But I still love the tractor.

Yeah - dealers can be a PITA. However, that being said, avoid the dealer for hydraulics
(except UDT), if they 'help you' it'll cost a fortune.

Good to hear the problem is solved.

I got O-Rings at the local hardware store.
Work great, a lot less expensive!

Same thing go for cotter pins, shear pins, etc... most of this stuff can be found at hardware stores and automotive shops for a lot less money and hassle.

Thanks for the suggestions. I know where to find that normal stuff. And I thought O rings were normal stuff. but apparently not. If they were, you would think the dealer would stock them. stuff. These O rings were just a slightly different size that no one in my area had. I am out in the sticks.

Maybe I'm just not getting through, but O rings is O rings. Find something which more or less fits and try it.
