We had a pulley key fail and ruin a side pulley on our ZD-21 mower. The deck, after much deliberation over a worn out model number stamp, is a RCK60-21Z.
The part number for this pulley, and for side pulleys on most decks, is K5651-33580.
We've confirmed this online and at the dealership repair shop.
HOWEVER, the new pulley that we received and all of the pulleys available that we can find with that number are not the same as the original pulley.
The bore diameter is too small, and the bottom of the pulley is missing the recessed area that fits over the bearings to protect them from dirt and grime.
We've been searching scrap yards (to no avail as diesel kubota mowers last too darn long) and are going on a journey to a Kubota guru up north tomorrow for advice.
Anyone have a clue as to what is going on or any advice on how to get this fixed?
Why did the part number stay the same, yet the actual part configuration change?
We've had lots of rain this year and the jungle looms.
