I just took delivery of a new BX23S. How many hours should be on a new machine after PDI etc? Also, are scratches acceptable on a new unit? Had tractors all my life, but this is my first new machine.

I think my B had 10 or 11 hours on it. I wouldn't say much about small scratches on the bucket, frame or implements where they had it tied down on the truck, but I would not except scratches on the hood, fenders or rims.

The way I look at it is they want top dollar for all this stuff, and yes it will get scratched, but I want to be the one that scratches it, LOL.

I believe my BX23S had 0.7 hours on it and zero scratches. Can't imagine why there'd be scratches on any of the sheetmetal.

I recently took delivery of a new BX2380, mine had less than 1 hour. I walked back in the yard and picked out the tractor still in the shipping crate and it still arrived scratched. It looks like some buffoon cleaned 3 areas of the hood with a Scotch Bright pad, I tried some wax, it helped a little, I decided to be annoyed but it was not bad enough to return it.

Not sure how bad your scratches are but pay attention to assembly. My dealer assembly guy got carried away with the grease gun, it took me hours to clean all the grease off the top and bottom of my mower deck that sprayed everywhere when I first used it.

And watch unloading at delivery. When they delivered my B2920 the idiot thought the backhoe bucket needed to be on the ground to unload the tractor from the trailer. He scraped the paint and metal off the backhoe bucket and put a big gouge in my blacktop with his idiocy.
