Just bought a 2012 L3800 w/ FEL, Box Scaper, Rotary Cutter and Disk.
Got a question. My Catagory 1 Quick Hitch requires that I use Catagory 2
bushings on my impliments. If the implements are Catagory 1 and the
Quick Hitch is Catagory 1, why the Catagory 2 bushings? It works fine, but
it has me wondering. Here's some pics of my new toy and the
Quick Hitch: And yes, I realize the ROPS were down and that's not cool:eek:
and it won't happen again;)

That's why it was down allright. Hope someone knows. I could ask the dealer
I guess but I'd rather find out here if possible.
Thanks,

I have a L3800DT, 5' Land Pride mower, old 5' box blade and don't have to use any bushings? I don't have a quick hitch though?

Very Nice rig! I love mine!

Gotta get me some bucket teeth like yours...

I need to use the bushings with a quick hitch- that's normal and works fine. you'll love the convenience of the quick hitch if you've ever had to wrestle those implements on and off the 3 point.
Nice rig. congrats and welcome! after you complete the probationary period you get the secret handshake.

Wish I did but that's life. I'll just have to learn to deal with it.
Old Retired Army Guy. I'm old, was in the Army and going to
retire next year. Think I can join the club?:D

Appreciate the info. At least I'm not alone. I already do love the Quick Hitch.
I had to move all the implements to my shed and the Quick Hitch made
hooking up and dropping off a simple operation. Dealer furnished me with
the large bushings for each one.
Secret handshake huh? Can't wait

Digging out an old stump Sunday, the teeth really came in handy.

Would like to know if your new L3800 has a "jerky 3 point hitch". I purchased mine in February 2011 and it does. I have 4 months before it goes off warranty to decide to have the dealer fix it or if there is a fix.

I bought mine last December. The hitch is a 'little' jerky when raised Very Slowly. It moves up in 1/4" increments and is designed that way. It's not bad and does not bother me at all. It is not even noticeable under normal use.

I would have never checked it if I hadn't read about it on another forum, where a couple guys really beat the subject to death.

There where a couple really bad ones (L3400) posted on you-tube. They seemed to jump violently in 1" increments. This I couldn't live with.

It did at first but I adjusted the speed dial below the seat and it smoothed
it out. Don't pay any attention to it now. Try adjusting the Lowering Speed
Knob before you call the dealer and see if you can't adjust most of it out.
Worked for me.
