The serial number is not missing. You are a few posts behind. We just couldn't find it.

Found a video of a guy working on the PTO switch on a ZD326.

More news I should have added sooner: the seller gave me his remaining SUDT2 plus a bag of new Kubota parts from the dealer, including receipts with his name and contact info. Saved me something like $50, should I choose to reinstall the scalp wheels.

This thing really throws clippings and dirt. I bought a Wolfsnout goggles-and-mask combo today.

Kubota says this is a 2015 mower, so that's about 7 years newer than I thought.

IMO, you seem to have made a good deal on your mower. Non clapped out ZD mowers are going for more than $7K in my area.
A couple of things you may want to take a look at.
Change mower deck gear box oil, it is often overlooked by DIY folks.

When I have starting safety switch issues it is always the Park Brake switch. It gets the most dust, dirt, grass clippings etc. Easy test is hold key in start position and stomp on parking brake a few times. Mine always starts.

When mine starts acting up I spray the switch with electrical contact cleaner. I use the straw that comes with the cleaner and direct the cleaner all around the switch plunger. If you open the deck access hatch the switch is visible and accessible. The switch is located on the left side of the hatch but if you look from the right side of the mower it can be seen.

Thanks for your help. The gearbox is on my list. I need to get a syringe or something to suck the oil out.

I ordered a switch, figuring it was a good idea to spend $10 and make an easy repair before doing a difficult diagnostic. I ordered the one that goes on the PTO control. I don't recall right now, but I think it may be the same part used on the brake.

I know on my Scag the seat, e-brake, and controll lever switches are all the same part number.

Today I tried to use the front lift, and it was tough sledding. I don't think it has been used more than once or twice since 2015. I believe it is full of grit from mowing.

Before I crawl around under there and go through the manual, can anyone tell me if there is a zerk that will help me grease the jack? There has to be.

I can't find any mention of a zerk in the manuals. Maybe I should take the front axle off and go through it.

Mine doesn’t have a fitting on the jack and it was also difficult to move when I got it. I just sprayed the threads with Kroil and lifted it up a few times. I spray it every time I grease everything else or when I change blades.

Thanks. That is very helpful.

I wonder if it will be possible to put a zerk on it somewhere.

I haven't even seen the threads yet. I assume I'll have to lie on my back.

If anyone here has a recommendation for coolant, I plan to replace it. I am hoping Kubota hasn't worked it out so I have to buy KubotaKool or OrangeGard or Koolbota or some other overpriced proprietary stuff, like I have to buy SUDT2!

You don't have to buy SUDT2, and it's not unreasonably priced for a synthetic hydraulic oil. If your climate isn't all that cold (i.e. doesn't go below freezing), then the old school UDT works just fine, and most Kubota tractors list both as being suitable. SUDT2 has many benefits, but the main one is that it flows better in the cold.

In my opinion if you're not doing a lot of hours on your machine, the difference in machine life between UDT and SUDT2 won't be something you'll see, although maybe your kids will if they keep the tractor. If you were running a higher end Kubota machine, and using it 40-50 hours a week, it might be worth the spend.

In my country we don't even get SUDT2 - it doesn't get cold enough. All our Kubotas just run UDT.

When you say He put new tires on this thing as well as filters and fluids, and he says the dealer told him not to bother with the front scalp wheels on the corners, do you mean new tires on the rear drive wheels?

Shouldn't they last a lot of hours?

When you look at the deck it has anti-scalp wheels on each corner of the deck. The front ones are entirely missing - someone's taken them off then lost them.

I took his statement to mean that the pneumatic tires had been replaced. Shouldn't they last longer than 500 hours?

If you turn tight in cement a lot you could wear them down pretty fast. On regular grass probably would last more than 500 hr.
At around 100 hr I put no-flat front tires on my zd. Thats the best thing I ever did for it.

No, I believe he's talking about the anti-scalp wheels. In that photo you can see anti-scalp wheels on the rear of the deck ( just in front of the rear tires). You can see a bracket for anti-scalp wheels on the front of the deck, but no wheel.

Here is his quote:

Question: do I need to replace the scalp wheels? He put new tires on this thing as well as filters and fluids, and he says the dealer told him not to bother with the front scalp wheels on the corners. Weird thing for a dealer to say.

I did see that the front anti scalp wheels were missing. I took from his words that he meant something different by tires. Maybe Mr. Haney will come back on and clear up what he was referring to.

I was talking about anti-scalp wheels.

Today I replaced the lawyer switch on the brake, but the mower still does not want to move. I am trying to get at the switch on the PTO control, but I can't get the cutting height dial off. It obstructs the panel, so it has to come off first.

Do I just pull this thing off? I see it has a cotter pin down inside the fender. Can I remove that and pull the whole assembly out?

I stand corrected. I hadn't heard them referred to as anti scalp tires before
