I just received the great news of loan pay-off from a BX1860 that I bought in 2013. I like the tractor however things have changed a little and I have put a rear mount blower on it. I seem to feel underpowered with the heavier snows as well as the turf tires seem a little lacking at times. So my questions are will a 2380 or 2680 be happier running blower and should I get the industrial tire for a little more bite? What is a rough guess of trade value for current 1860 FEL, 54 mmm 205 hrs I think its clean? Thank you

ps this is the wife's fault as she opened pay-off letter and announced a pre approval for another purchase and said she would put in a safe place.

Since you are in SD why not look at the B2650HSDC? That cab/heat sure is nice with wind and snow and the AC is nice in the summer. Check your trade in value for different models, they may give you more to get you into a larger platform. The B series is a nice size, not too big but will do most jobs.

P.S. You may look at Sparky's post and see what his thought process was in deciding on the B.

Congrats on the payoff. I only have a few more payments for the same.

Stmar has a great idea. I am looking at a Grand L next to get that A/C for bush hogging in the summer. :D

My 2015 bx2370 that im trading in has 89hrs on it and is in showroom condition. It has the la243 loader, 60”drive over mmm, 60” plow with quick hitch, set of (all four) turfs and r4, and a set of 36” pallet forks. Im getting 11,800 for that complete package. Most dealers were trying to give me 8-10k. Hope that helps with estimating your buggy for a trade

the turf tires seem to be the best for snow according to many users. Unlike the industrial or ag tires they don't hold as much snow leaving more thread in contact with the ground. If you consider what snow tires look like on vehicles, the turf tires come pretty close. Just my 2 cents.

I would advise against Industrial Tires for snow removal purposes. I have had all 3 types, and can honestly say that the Turf's are by far much better in snow. You CAN however, stud the industrial tires, but you can add another $800 to $1000 believe it or not, to stud them to work properly. Even with that, the Turfs will give you better performance in snow and on ice. Just my 5 cents worth of experience with this issue.

I've had all 3 types of tires and find the R4's superior all around. Way better for loader work. They are a good compromise between floatation and traction. Forget driving in deep snow if you have turf tires. On turfs with the SCUT I had to keep the machine in 4WD all the time. Changing to R4's was better even for lawn mowing.

Keep in mind tire condition plays a big roll on traction. Old worn R4's don't work as well as new ones.

If you only ever drive on asphalt turf tires may work out for you. I've found turf tires not much better than slicks for me.
