New to the board and wanted to introduce myself..38 year old guy from Mississippi and just purchased L4701 and Z725KW-60 so I am starting to accumulate some orange around here. Glad I found the board because I am new to tractors for the most part (this is my 1st) and I will have many questions….

PS quick question, where do you check the hydraulic oil in the L4701?? Any other fluids (obviously the oil) that I should keep a close eye on before operation?? Any pearls passed my way would be greatly appreciated!!!

Welcome to OTT and congrats on your new tractor. Hydraulic dipstick is under the seat on the left side when seated in the seat. Lift the seat and you should see it below and forward of the safety switch below the seat. Oil dipstick is on the left side of the engine about in the center.

I would suggest you get the owner manuals for both units, and if you want to know way more and be able to repair your own issues get the WSM's for them.

Note: WSM = Work Shop Manual = Service manual.

I'm in Tupelo a lot as it is the closes big city. My daughter is an ICU nurse at the hospital there.

I bowl in Fulton and go to Amory a few times a year and of course I have to go to the AFB at Columbus from time to time so I am all over that area.

How much land are you working down there?

Cool.. I am also in the medical field… I have 150 acres that I have a house on and rest is gonna be a hobby farm.. Mostly been using my tractor for garden work, bush hogging, grading drive way, grapple on the front for cleaning up debris…I will plan to use it this fall for food plots...

Big difference between the type of critter is why.

Yes we like to draw deer in with food plots but hate the smaller critters taking stuff from the garden and killing our chickens. I Had to kill a big possum the other night as he was trying to get to the chickens.
