I rebuilt the D950 on my B7200HSD a few years ago, but I made the mistake of having the crankshaft suraces welded up and turned down to save a few hundred bucks. The machine shop warned me of the risk of cracking it, and that came back to bite me after about a year and a half of light use. The crankshaft broke just in front of the first cylinder. Now I have a new crank, and I'm ordering parts to rebuild the engine again. The parts manual includes a couple of parts that I don't remember using when I rebuilt the first time.

The first is the crankshaft sleeve (19215-23280); I cannot find any reference to it in my service manual; is it simply pressed on the back end of the crankshaft?

The second is called a pin plug (15131-01380), and there are supposed to be three of them. Are they crank pin or rod pin oil plugs? What is their function?

If you bought a new crank all the parts are already included as a complete crank assembly.

You see in the picture part# 100 includes all the parts 100,110,120,130,140, so no you don't need to get them separately.

Depending upon exactly where the crank broke, it may be a good idea to check the line bore on the main bearings as well as magnaflux the main cap and main bearing saddles in the block.
