New B2620 owner

Just bought a brand new B2620... Would have waited a couple weeks if I had known the new B2601 model was coming but oh well, I'm very happy with my B2620 so far.

I bought this tractor because my neighbour let me borrow his BX2360 many times over the last winter and I totally fell in love with it. I decided that I needed a Kubota too but wanted a higher ground clearance and Ag tires to do some work on my small woodlot. I had used my neighbour's BX just a couple days ago when my new B2620 was delivered. All excited to try the snowblower that came with it I engaged the pto lever.... (ignoring the clutch because there is no clutch pedal on the BX) the second a heard that awful grinding noise I realized what was going on and released the pto lever and put it back to the neutral position... I felt like an absolute idiot because I know better. however, I will never forget the clutch pedal ever again on this tractor. I don't think I hurt anything, the tractor works awesome, I don't imagine grinding the gears once has damaged anything but it just got me worried and a bit paranoid. I was just wondering if any of you had experience with that in the past....

Also, I can't find anywhere in my manual if I need to use the clutch pedal for switching between the L-M-H hst range but I don't take any chance an use the clutch all the time...

Congrats on the new tractor. I doubt you did any damage by forgetting the clutch the first time you tried to use the blower. I had the predecessor model to your tractor and I used the clutch to shift from high to low range( only had 2 ranges not three like yours). Your manual should say for sure whether or not this is mandatory. Where are you in NB? My mother is from Shediac.

Edit: I found a copy of your manual online. On pg 22 it states: "the range gear shift can only be shifted when tractor is completely stopped and clutch is depressed".

It also states:

Depress the clutch pedal and stop the tractor.
Do not force the range gear shift lever.
A If it is difficult to shift the range gear shift lever into
neutral position;
(1) Depress the brake pedals firmly for several
seconds.
(2) Without reducing the brake pedal force, depress
the clutch pedal and then shift the range gear shift
lever.
A If it is difficult to shift the range gear shift lever into "L",
"M" or "H" from neutral position;
(1) Release the clutch pedal.
(2) Slightly depress the speed control pedal to rotate
the gears inside of transmission.
(3) Release the speed control pedal to neutral
position.
(4) Depress the clutch pedal and then shift the range
gear shift lever.

Out of curiosity, how do you like your L4060? Looks like a great machine ! I looked at the L series before buying my tractor but the gap difference (price wise) was getting significant with the B series. The main thing for me is that I wanted something new, I was getting tired of constantly having to fix my old tractor....

I like the L4060 just fine although I have only had it a week. I previously owned a B7610 and an L3200. I traded up because I'm getting too old to go another winter without a cab

The B series are great tractors. Very reliable and can do a lot of work for their size. Good luck with yours.
