Hey guys new to the forum and to tractors. (Always drove skid steers and fire trucks). Im looking into buying a BX2200 with 1800 hrs on it and would like to get some thoughts on it. Before I get more into that I want to state im looking for something around the house and to use when I get some property for hunting. For now I have some dirt moving jobs and mowing this summer. (Need to move part of a hill under my deck to put in a break wall.) Im also planning to use it this winter to move snow as well.

With that said, whats everyones thoughts on this tractor? Is it a good one or not? Does it sound like it will do what I need?

What would be a good price for an 03 with the a FEL on it?

How much does it weigh with the FEL? Will a 6' X 12' trailer be big enough to haul it around?

I know im asking alot of Q?s but this a good chunk of change to get into something I wont like. I appreciate any info.

Probably can't help alot but I've owned one since new and have about 500 hours of mowing only use with it and have not had any problems other than normal maintenance. Seems to have plenty of power for its size and to me does really well mowing even knee high grass and weeds. Have never even used the rear pto. The 4x4 is great on hills. Not sure about weight and other specs but I bet some others on here have used one with a loader before.

I don't know how much I can help, but I will relate my experience with our 03 BX2200 with FEL and 60" MMM. We use a 48" Land Pride rotary cutter and 50" tiller. My brother is using it right now to bush hog some areas we reforested this year, so I'm guessing on hours, north of 1000, but don't know by how much.

We used it for years mowing and doing FEL work etc., but now use another BX for the yard and the2200 as purely a small tractor, long story.

If the hydraulic lines under the operator's platform have not been replaced they will at some point, no big deal. If it's been stored outside check the FEL rams for pitting. Be sure to check the HST cooling fan as it is not unusual to need it replaced, good news is if it does it is a lot easier to do than on the later models. I put Bro Tek plates on both our BXs.

In my area, I've only seen one for sale with an asking price of 10k, but I don't know how much he got. You could check tractor house and maybe get a better idea, 10k seems high to me, but I know no one wants to sell theirs around here.

I use a 6x12 to haul mine with the tiller, but it needs a 16' if you have the rotary cutter on, so if I had only one trailer, it would not be the 6x12.

Hope that helps some.
