The temperature gauge on my L2650 had been slowly creeping up above hot , even when mowing under low load.
Checked the engine, and temps were only around 175F. Changed the sending unit and is didn't help (maybe a little bit). Just checked the gauge resistance as per the WSM (thanks Wolfman), and the levels are way out of range.
Looks like I need a new gauge, but was wondering if anyone had any good options for used or surplus parts (and am I wrong to think a used gauge should be fine?)
Thanks
Jay

The water temp gauge does not move very much at all at 175 degree's, I can run my L3450 full out for hours and never tweak the gauge off low.

Real simple test, put the gauge wire to ground it the needle goes to hot then it's fine. ;)
