Pretty much out the Blue. Said he was closing his practice here (Deep East Texas) and moving himself and wife to Montana.
I have to wonder if that was a well thought out decision? Pretty sure once he experiences a Montana 'Winter' he might have second thoughts.
In recent years a number of Texans have been moving to Montana and Wyoming for various reasons. Most aspiring to live in a Rural area where I assume the folks and culture would not be that different than Rural Texas.
However....I don't how folks from those two States view 'transplants'. I know the influx of Californians to my State (Texas) has caused a rift in some cases.
I've met some really great folks from Kali....fleeing oppressive taxes, cost of
dental tourism packages living and politics. I've also met a few just taking advantage of the lower cost of living here but bringing the same mindset with them... that in my opinion ruined their State.
I don't now exactly why my Dentist left....but I do know neither him or his wife have any family in Montana. I hope they like it there (beautiful State) and that the people they meet will be accepting of them.
