Hello,
I'm a new member here trying to pull as many resources as I can for this past winters endeavor. I have tackled repairing all the issues my '85 B8200 has accumulated over the years, although it is in generally good shape.
I have just gotten to the front hub and discovered both bearings are bad on the vertical shaft that drives the hub. My problem is I have the steering arm off, the top and bottom caps and don't see a logical way to remove the vertical shaft and the 2 bearings. I am (so Far) reluctant to use a bigger hammer.
Any ideas out there?
Mike

Thanks for the info and parts breakdown. Now I can see what I am dealing with. 10 and 11 are my problem bearings. So if the clips are below (or above) the bearings, how do you get the bearings out without destroying stuff to get to the c-clips?
Also do you have Part description and numbers to go with the drawing you supplied?
Thanks,
Mike

Its been a while since i knocked one apart, im assuming you have the housing removed and on the bench?i think im mistaken, its the wheel hub you need to remove,6 bolts. Snap ring is inside i think.

Getting it to the bench was my next step. It turns out the gasket sealer between the hub and the axle will put JB Weld to shame. Tomorrows project.

Good news,
The spindle is apart and mostly disassembled. The 'big' hammer did the trick. Tooljunkie you're were right, one c-clip on the inside made the others accessible. I have 2 very well rusted in bearing races to deal with, I think a gas wrench will do it.
So far only bearings and seals need replacing.

A point i just remembered, after removing 6 hub bolts, on some machines there are 2 holes threaded in hub to assist with removal by installing larger bolts. May not be the case with yours though. Glad you are making headway.
