i wanted to start a post on the MX4800, there isnt a lot out there on the 4800, so i wanted to get a conversation going on how you like it and how it performs. ive been loving mine, i came from a BX2670, so it was a step up. i just did my 50 hour service on it, used rotella 15w40 oil, and it took 8.5 quarts. i purchased mine last october, so basically been plowing snow and up keep on my gun range. i did get a set of pallet forks, they have come in handy, and have moved many things with ease. ive been stacking wood on pallets, about waist high, and this tractor handles it well.

i have a 6 foot sinishing mower for the yard, my yard is fairly open, so im going to mow with it this year and see how i like it. i bought a tractor because i wanted the versatility with one machine. i might be a little big for mowing, and could more than likely save time with a zero turn, so i will see how it goes. i went bigger because i plan on keeping it for as long as i can, and i wanted one machine so i can focus on just one machine maintance wise.

what about other MX4800 owners? im still waiting for videos to pop up on youtube.

Thanks for starting this thread. I am close to same time as you, about 45 hours now after purchase in late August. Almost ready for first service.

I've mowed a bunch with 72" shredder, purchased and used an disc harrow prepping for dove fields, and used the box blade on drive and cleaning cattle pens. Really happy with the purchase so far.

A couple of things I've posted in more specific threads -

1- I wish I would have added rear remotes and 3rd function up front. I haven't needed yet, but can see future where they would help.
2- Quick Hitch has been a great addition. I can switch implements in moments as opposed to it being an event.
3- Still expecting first regen. 90% of work has been at pto speed which I believe has extended time and particulate build up.
4- Just received ROPS light kit which will be installed soon.
5- I don't have filled tires, but keep an implement on back when using FEL and hasn't been a problem - yet.
6- I've gone slow and tried to learn without breaking anything - so far so good.

I have a go-pro and keep meaning to take a video. Will try on next project.

be careful when you change the hst filter on the right side of the tractor, I had a gallon or more of hydro fluid gush out. it made a mess. I wish I added the hook ups in the back as well. I will probably do it later in the future. ive had 2 regens. first one was at 30 hours the at 43ish. I idled quite a bit this last time, because I didn't want to be shutting the thing on and off all the time. I typically run mine at 2000 2200 rpm when doing stuff. I have a box blade I use a lot as well, I mounted a piece of 1/2 inch 5x5 angle iron on the back of my box blade so I could add JD suitcase weights as needed. works pretty well

I am glad to hear your are happy with your mx4800. My and I are about ready to move up to a mx4800 trading our L3901 which we bought Jan 2015 finding it a bit light for most work we do, should have bought the mx4800 than anyway better late than never. I found 2 2015 mx4800 leftover at a local dealer for $11800 still in the crates. Works out to $4000 less than a 2016 mx5200 although the turbo engine would be nice I think the 4800 will be just fine. Having the brake pedals on the left on the Hst model should prove to be an advantage in the woods in using the rear wheels to turn which we haven't been able to do with our L3901 with all the pedals being on the right. enjoy your tractor and thanks for the info.Cheers NS Kubota.
