The tractor is the HST and is 5 Years old. I have noticed that a lot of guys are changing the HYD fluid at 50 hours. My manual calls for the first change at 400 hours. It does call for the trans oil filter change at 50 and the HYD filter at 400. I changed both at 50. Even the guys at the dealership thought the manual called for the first change at 50. Has Kubota changed their spec on the hours. It has about 150 H on it now. Just wondering if I should follow my manual or has something changed. Thanks, Dwight.

My 2000 model L3000 says to change the fluid @50 but the newer stuff says to change the filter and run the oil for 400.
Myself, I believe the most important oil change of the tractors life is the 50 hr change. It will have the most metal (except for catastrophic failure) you will ever see. I bought 3 new Kubotas and all were changed @50 and if I ever buy another one it will be done @50 as well no matter what the manual says.

Some people are over the top about maintenance, I'm not, hydraulic/transmission oil doesn't have additive packages that wear out like engine oils which are being constantly contaminated, but at 5 years I wouldn't think it unreasonable to change it. I know my machine will get few hours and I will probably change at that frequency. Others will say do it every 12 months, it's really up to you.
