Muffler question..........

I have a B 1750 2wd and I noticed that the replacement mufflers don't come with the extension. How does it connect to the muffler? Does it bolt on or has to be welded?

Someone welded mine on and rust through has caused it to fall off.

Should I just have it re-welded back on? Its a vertical muffler.

For the life of me, I was wandering why the PO welded it on (???)

I guess he couldn't afford a $2 muffler clamp

At first I was under the impression that the muffler and extension was one piece.

Sometimes depending on what type of exhaust clamp they use, it will start rotating when the exhaust gets hot and the clamp expands Some do it for a cleaner look.
