I added a 5k lb winch to my L3800. Mounted low in the grill guard to clear the FEL. Not for skidding logs but for self recovery, and have used it several times. Pulling myself out, others, lifting shoot houses at deer camp. Never had an issue with the battery but always had the engine running.
