Made myself a Shute rotator motor

My back window on my L3800 is a fixed window and no rear remotes my new snow blower came with a hand crank so had to make my own Shute rotator l had a bit of fun doing it made with a power seat motor from princess auto $19.99 and a 12v reversing switch

It's 1/4 inch square shaft made from an old screwdriver shaft (very strong won't break under torque ) which drives the worm gear

Updating this thread with a couple of pics of a chute rotator using the "other" power seat motor available from Princess Auto - this one features an Acme screw as its output shaft. Just file a flat on the Acme screw thread and drill to accept the cross bolt that previously attached the manual crank to the chute rotation worm gear.

Stop-to-stop rotation of the chute takes 11 seconds with this motor and it has plenty of torque for the job. After these photos were taken I installed a rubber weather shield over the motor just to keep the water off it.
