Hey, I’ve got a 1990 m8950 with the v4300 turbocharged engine. The engine is toast but I found another running v4300 for sale at a salvage yard. Only difference is that the one from the salvage yard is from a m7950. I’m just wondering if anybody knows if this would swap directly over and just need to install the turbo, injection pump and injectors from the 8950?

Injection pump comes up as different but no need to change injectors they are the same.
The only issue I can see is there is different pistons in it too.
That could pose an issue swapping the turbo over to it?
The heads are also different too.
Your best option is to install the engine as is and leave the turbo off of it.

Sounds good, thanks for the response. Ya probably better to lose the 10hp and keep it simple instead of slapping a turbo on and blowing it up.
