Pricing? Got a quote $50,950 and $48,750. I am thinking it’s worth the extra 2k for the 10hp. This price is with loader and 4wd? Seems like fair pricing. Any thoughts?

They look pretty similar with a glance at the spec sheet (almost same weight and same wheelbase)…but I see there is a transmission option with the M7060. To me that might be worth it regardless of the HP increase depending on your use / preference. But as HP goes if I could buy 10 for 2k, I would not think twice. Happy shopping. 🥃

I’m am probably not helpful to your question, as I am not sure the new price…but here is a fairly new low hours machine for a bit less. (Looks to be within your state too)

My brother once said to me, when you have a choice of two engines, you always get the bigger one. My boat is now quite overpowered. But overpowered is a lot better than underpowered.

X2 on the M7060. Also price out the 12 speed model.
I’ve spent time on a M6060 8 speed and there is a big speed difference between 3rd and 4th gear. Really noticeable maintaining 540 PTO bush hogging.

I wish my M5660 had the 12 speed transmission option, but it's not available in my model 😕

I haven’t looked at this particular model-comparison….but if the addt’l ten HP was due to a turbocharger on the same engine….or if it were due to some simple specification-manipulation….. I’d probably avoid the ”bigger” model.

When one gets into larger equipment a few more HP might be more trouble than useful.… Witness the emissions and other troubles some models have versus their only slightly “lesser” siblings.

Not the same tractor/model comparison….but my M4700 had a slightly more powerful big-brother…the M5400… virtually the same tractor but with more HP. But that HP increase was due solely to a higher operating RPM (only 100 more at that) used during the specification… all the other capabilities were identical….same implement capacities, sizes, etc etc. The only real difference was the M5400 was spec’d out with slightly larger tire sizes…which…as it turns out….were also available as an option on the M4700…AND which were already ON the M4700 which I happened to have purchased. Doh.

Just sayin…..

U get more than 10 hp with the 7060 if u go with the 12 speed more hydraulic flow, e pto and electro engagement of 4 wheel drive and i think with 7060 limited slip front end also. Not sure if 6060 has limited slip frontend. I had a 8 speed 7060 for 3.5 yrs. It had radial tires and filled rears with cast centers. I got a 12 speed 7060 with cab back in march. same tires and centers. BIG difference in hydro flow and u will want the cast centers and filled tires. light on rear without rear ballast. Go ahead and get third function also, not much more $.

I would go for the 7060, but I would also look into the 12 speed. That e-pto would be great for mowing and such.

I have the M6060 and the actual difference is 7.5hp net, and 8hp at the PTO. I bought the 6060 off the lot from a dealer in Sheridan, WY but had I ordered a tractor it would have been the M7060 with the F12/R12 transmission and I would have added the creep range as I did to the 6060. The increased oil flow, electronic 4WD, and better transmission are worth the price difference. The engines are the same and there are affordable options to bump up the 6060 power output so I wouldn't focus on the hp difference.

Are those prices for the bare bones tractors or are there any options included? Are you looking at cab or open station? I paid $40,075 out the door for the cabbed M6060 tractor and options listed below, but that was in April of 2022.

I added the e-pto option to my 6060 and have reported on real-world differences in engine rpm when running a 7ft Land Pride rotary cutter. I think it's worth the $1,487 I paid, particularly over the life of the tractor. Reducing engine rpm is a good thing if there's no reduction in performance of the implement.

As an M6060 owner I agree on getting the M7060 but I can't say I've had any issues or complaints in terms of the transmission while running a 7ft rotary cutter. Essentially I'm limited by ground speed and made this comment last summer.

"I spent about 5 hours cutting my friend's fields yesterday afternoon/evening. I like the 540E option on the tractor. I ran around in mid range 4th gear for the most part (1,800rpm) but it was on the bumpy side. I cut his field in late June when it was a lot taller and thicker so this went faster."

Y’all are great this is just the 8 speed and comes with loader. Now thinking I should get the 12 speed this will be my next tractor for the next 20 years.

U will not regret it! Get all the things you have the $ for when u get the tractor. The m series is a very reliable tractor. Been around for a long time. This is my last tractor I hope and I got all the options except rear defroster, really nice! Think really hard about the cast rear centers and third function though! Good luck and post pics.

This must be a cab model right?

I tend to keep things I like for decades too, so as everyone has said, get the M7060 for sure. The only option I don't have on mine is the rear wiper and defrost but that's an easy fix. I have the air ride seat as well but the factory seat is more than good enough. As @gator tx said, these M tractors are awesome and as much as I like the MX6000 too, I'd keep the M6060 if one had to go.
