I use the tractor, an M7040SUHD, primarily for mulching. The last 2 or 3 times I noticed that the 3pl wasn't lifting as high as it should and getting a little lower each use. It raised, lowered and held position just fine, just didn't go high enough. Apart from that, all hydraulics were working fine. The paddocks that I have been mulching have a lot of rocks, so I've been using the raise/lower control lever a fair bit. After I finished mulching, I had a look at the control lever linkage, thinking maybe I'd bent it with all the up and down. It did appear to be bent, so I bent it back just a little (which was ridiculously easy by the way) to see the result. Sure enough, up came the 3pl. So, thinking I'm on a winner here, I bent it some more. Too Much. Now the 3pl is jammed in the "UP" position, and won't come down. I've wound the adjuster under the seat with no result. I've jumped and bounced on the mulcher with no result. I'm hoping that someone on here can tell me that it is a simple fix, and just do A.B.C. and all will be right with my world. If it involves some significant dismantling of complex parts, then it is beyond my competency. Fingers crossed.

Make sure the draft lever is down as well as the 3pt control lever.

‘Also, work the adjuster under the seat a few times. Clockwise/counterclockwise to make sure it’s actually moving.

it’s not too painful to remove the cover where the control lever is. The black rubber top on th lever slides off if needed. Check and see that the cable is connected ok. Lube it while you in there.

Bend the lever back to the original position and look at the Feed back linkage, that's probably where your issue is!

Thanks Captain13 and North Idaho Wolfman for your replies and suggestions. I checked out everything you both said. I suspect it was the feed back linkage that was the trouble. I wound it "in" as far as it would go, with no change, but when I wound it "out" the 3pl eventually released...... Hallelujah. Still had to fiddle a bit with minor adjustments, but now everything is once again right with my world. My lesson learnt here is More Brain and Less Muscle.
Thank you both. You've got me out of a real fix. Very much appreciated

Glad you got it. Kudos to the Wolfman on that one.
