I'm new to the forum and have a new M7040. I'm curious if any other have noticed gear chatter coming from the transmission when moving? It also makes the noise when the manual shuttle is in either forward of reverse and the transmission is in neutral. I expect some gear noise, but it is very noticeable inside the cab. When the fluid is cold it doesn't seem to make it, but once up to operating temperature is when it becomes annoying. Anyone with a similar noise or any opinion would be appreciated.

My 5140 was more noisy in low range when it was knew but seemed to quite down after about 10 hours of use. Get her out and working, if that don't do it call the dealer.

I guess time will tell...about 30 hours on it and it doesn't seemed to have changed. The tractor runs fine, that is a plus. I guess it will eventually break or I will get use to it. I appreciate the reply!

I'm being told that some gear noise is normal and the cab makes it worsel. I agree that some gear noise is expected. I think this is excessive. There is not much that can be done, unless the performance is suffering or there is abnormal amounts of debris when I drain the transmission for the first 50 hour service.
