Well...I tore a hole in the top of my fuel tank yesterday. Anybody ever try one of those silly putty kits to plug it up? Can't get a new tank for two weeks and have a concrete guy coming out to pour a slab and I have no base built for him yet. :(

I would get a fiber glass repair kit and use that. It will make a permanent fix and you won't need to replace the tank.

Just use silicone, like Ultra Black, Not clear, its available at any automotive store.

Edit: If the tank is Black Plastic (ABS) then you can weld it fairly easy. I think Harbor freight has a kit to do it for way cheaper than new and the repair will be permanent.
Any glues or patches like silicone, fiberglass, epoxy, bondo, or tape will leak and cause you problem down the line, ABS is one of the toughest plastics to patch.

JB Weld comes to mind if its not to terribly bad. I have a friend of mine who is one of three companies in the U.S. that will do fuel tank repair on anything. You'd have to ship it to him then he'd fix it and ship back. He's been doing fuel tanks of all kinds and radiators for over 20 years.

Checkout KBS coatings. They have some great youtube videos on tank repair. We just finished a repair with this system. Cost about $100. It's a lot better than $900 Kubota dealer quoted.

Thanks everyone. I'll run down a few leads and see what happens. I got quotes anywhere from $487.00 to $687.00 from my local dealers for just the new tank.
