M6950 cab clutch problems

Seeking advise. Pulling an 8 wheel rake today and the tractor started losing speed and making a high pitched whine. I am pretty sure the clutch needs service. What is involved in adjusting or replacement of this?

I think most of us would start with pedal free play. If the clutch is indeed slipping, there probably is none. A slipping clutch doesn't necessarily produce a whine, but who knows?

(If this link works) check and adjust length of rod 080 until you have an inch or so of free play on the pedal and try it again. If it still has problems you might start thinking of splitting it for a clutch.

Not sure about a tractor, but in the past I can/could smell a slipping clutch a mile away.

Were there any strange smells?

Does your tractor have just a dry type clutch or does it have a hydraulic operated clutch? Has clutch pedal free travel spacing been checked?
