Hello, I recently purchased a M6040HD-1 with loader that had 970 hrs. I have one question as I was going to do a complete service on it. When I use the tractor, it builds up pressure in the hydraulic system some how. When I check the dipstick in the back it blows fluid everywhere until there's no pressure in the system. It doesn't appear to be over serviced or anything.

I checked the relief valve assembly and found a cut O-ring. I replaced it and the ring back up and no change. How to I test the relief valve? Do these tractors have a vent that could be stopped up? Any advice on what to check next?

Thanks

There are many different M6040s but the one I looked at has a couple of vents.

See illustrated parts lists here and look at the transmission case section for the first one that I looked at to see they are actually routed through some pipe (probably rubber tubes). Then find your specific model and see if they are the same or are located differently.

I assume you have some type of bug that would think that is a perfect nesting location.
