Curious what the consensus is on the MFWD Kubota M5700 open station tractor equipped with the hydraulic reverser and factory loader. The one we are looking at has been kept under cover, one owner, and has 3,400 hours on it. The owner traded up to 75hp with a cab for Winter comfort. Our trade is a JD 2440 (1979) with a factory loader and 4,400 hours. It has been a good, solid tractor but 2wd limits what it will do at times. Main duties include mowing, plowing snow and moving big bales (1,200 pounds) over smooth ground. I have done searches here and elsewhere on the M5700. Have not turned up anything noteworthy, would like to know if I am missing anything of importance. We have a BX1870 (replaced a JD 425) and an RTV1100 (replaced a JD Gator XUV) already. Is it time to replace a green utility tractor with an orange one? The ironic thing is we were all green, shifting to orange and I currently work for a red dealership!

I'm not familiar with that model, but if rbargeron is a member here, check with him, he is on TBN and knows a lot about the older models.

Thats a brute for sure. I dont know much about Utility Tractors, other than high hours seem to be the norm.

Loader is rated for 2500 lbs to full height at bucket pins. 5 cylinder diesel must sound sweet.

It's basically the same HP and frame size as we have now. That's nice as the implements we already own would be sized correctly. The big advantage would be going from 2wd to 4wd. I am a little concerned in regards to the seeming lack of information I am finding on it. Not in a big hurry, either. Will take it slow and see how the numbers shake out.

I have not seen that tractor however it is "Orange" if you know what I mean..
That size is usually used for hauling wagons, running a silo blower, general loader work (snow) and rotary cutters around here so it would be seem the hours at 3400 are normal. Tires would be a concern ($). The loader specs. seem good. Going to 4wd would be like "how did we do it without"...

How much? Depends on how they want to play the numbers game. Depending on how they want to value our 2440, the actual selling price of the M5700 would be between $14,000 and $16,500.
