New member here. I have a 94 or 95 M5030su front wheel drive with fel and other rear attachments. Love this tractor. I need to do better job on maintenance on this tractor. Have a seal leaking on front left wheel. went to check the fluid level on the wheel and oil came out the fill plug. Surprised me as I thought it should not be under pressure. I need to change the hydraulic oil and filter. In south east kansas so our winters are not to bad but it can get cold. What oil should I use.

Thanks Len

The WSM for my L5030 reads that UDT or gear oil 80w90 weight is suitable. I used 80w90 recently after replacing the seals in my front axle. If you can check a WSM for your particular machine, that would be best. However, either should work for you.

UDT or SUDT2 would both work fine in there, and yes that's the same type fluid as the hydraulic system. ;)

How full should the front axle oil be? I have a b7200hstd that I want to change oil in and I'm confused about if the you should fill right up to the where it starts to come out the fill hole. There is only two holes that I have found the drain and fill hole. Right? To me it seems you shouldn't have it plumb full.
Thanks

Should there be pressure on the cap on the front wheel? I didn't expect oil to run out when I removed the fill cap.
It sounds like it might have been over filled.
Sure when filling it, that the front axle is relatively level.
Check the manuals to see how much to put in it.

No it should not be filled to the top, go to Kubotabooks.com and download the WSM it will tell you how much to put in it. ;)
