New here, quick introduction first... I have a compact Kubota tractor, a komatsu backhoe and a Deere bulldozer. All of which I use on my farm.

I just got a new M5-111. I was using the grapple and noticed the power steering wasn't very powerful. If I was stopped with any load on the front end loader, I couldn't turn the tires. I thought maybe they just aren't built to handle loads like my backhoe. So I emptied the grapple and tried to turn the wheels without a load. It did better, but still had issues turning when stopped.

Anyone else experience this?

Hydrostatic power steering depends on oil flow so if the engine is idling, don't expect it to steer like when the RPM's are up. You might check your front tire inflation pressure as well and increase it a bit.

I have a M5-091 and never noticed any steering issues even with a heavy load on loader. I'd check tire pressures and keep the rpm's up a little as mentioned. Do you have the rears loaded or ballast weight of some type on 3pt?

As I said above it's not that great. There is a big difference in the way my l4630 steers as compared to my m5-111. Also, bucket curl, the 46hp will lift the front tires the m5 will not. I know there is a weight difference, but my cat and ford backhoe will do it.

Overall, I am pleased with the m5 except for the def pump that went out. There is nothing like getting ready for a 30 minute job and the tractor telling me I have xx minutes till limited power.
