Howdy,

I purchased a block heater for my M5-111 and the instructions that came with it are not helpful. Can anyone point me to the location on the engine? It is a threaded one of that helps.

Thank you

Erik

I took a few photos of the locations of the block heaters on my M6060 and MX6000. This might be no help at all since neither are an M5-111, but both are four cylinder engines, and the block heaters thread into ports on the left side of the engine near to the cab i.e. towards the rear of the engine. Up here all tractors come with block heaters installed, based on the four tractors I've purchased anyway. But I do know that the local dealer has them in all new tractors that they sell.

Thank you I will take a look. I called two different Kubota's today and received two different answers- one said left the other said right side. I just need to look for the one plug that has a Hex hole.

you should consider installing a battery warmer. If it's cold enough to need a block heater, your tractor wil enjoy a nice warm battery ! batteries hate the cold, can lose 1/2 their power. if they're warm, they have more energy, allows engine to start quicker.

This may not help, but there was a
recent post on installing a heater on an L model. Maybe you got just the heater and not the adapter part.
Edit:
Admittedly, I'm grasping at straws here, but an old thread mentions that on an M5-091 there's a threaded plug on the right side of the engine for a heater. Could this be it?

Here's a YouTube link on installing a heater on an M4-071. According to the M4- parts diagram, its threaded hole is on the left, so I'm betting your M5's is on the right as shown on the diagram in my earlier post.

I found the spot, it is conveniently located behind the Oil separator Element. It looks pretty straight forward for removing the Element. Has anyone had any issues with this?

What's an oil separator element?

apparently it is the silver canister that has a filter in it.
Hmmm. Is it there to separate oil and water? It's not an oil filter right?

It's purpose is to separate oil from crank case vent or PVC vent to keep it from being sent into the intake and motor as oil messes with the emissions equipment.
