M 4800 utility cat II 3 point lift works but the range of lift is only about 12inches from the highest to lowest point(at the very end of the lift arms).Lift has lots power and holds a load well, hydraulic oil shows at the top.Ive seen other similar models and they show about 25-28 inches of lifting range. Can this be adjusted ?is there an internal issue?

I may be wrong but looks like the arms should have 3 sets of holes based on the Kubota website. Could your tractor have the wrong set of arms on it?

Make sure you have it in position not draft control. Then check and if indicated adjust the feedback linkage.

Put the top link in the bottom hole at the tractor end and it will lift higher.

unfortunetly the lower links dont have optional attachment holes which would increase /decrease the lift range
do you have a drill and bits..? 🤫

BTW, I have a set of lower lift arms from my M4700 (similar model to yours) that I removed when I modified my tractor. They are available cheap. The shipping would be a lot more than you simply drilling holes tho’…. ;)

Does anybody actually read the description of his problem?

"4800 utility cat II 3 point lift works but the range of lift is only about 12 inches from the highest to lowest point (at the very end of the lift arms)."

The lift arms are only moving 12 inches. That is controlled by the feedback linkage!

Hokie, … he Does Say “at the end of the lift arms.…which implies the (missing) attach-holes in his lift arms might resolve his issue…. And, it has already been suspected his lift arms are not in compliance with the illustrated factory-assembly-parts.

Hokie, …perhaps….it MAY be you that needs to re-read his post.… as he Does Say “at the end of the lift arms.…which implies the (missing) attach-holes in his lift arms mighty resolve his issue.
Shortening the linkage wont increase travel. It increases lowered height

Before doing snyyhing he needs to
  1. Make sure the lift is in position not draft/mixed control.
  2. Check and adjust the lift travel (feedback linkage) as described in the manual.

I agree with you on checking feedback.

I disagree with you on the above statement.

Moving holes further towards the rear of the tractor gives you both a lower drop and a higher lift simultaneously, hence greatly increasing travel.

I am referring the the holes on the arm, not in the lifting link.

He measured travel at the lift pins. Movinv the lift pins rearward (if possible) increases travel but thats not the situation here.

Here's an L3901 - much smaller tractor. Lift travel is almost 18" . If his tractor is only lufting 12 inches (when in position control) its not adjusted properly or the mechanism is broken.
