Hello all!

I have a Kubota M105SHD with Rops.

I am doing fuel system maintenance, (filter and water separator) and my workshop manual refers me to a fuel system bleed procedure.

It says I should bleed the fuel system of air, and it references a hand pump “knob” on top of the fuel filter assembly.

When I look there, there’s a cover plate with a phillips screw and no pump feature.

Anyone know what’s up?

I was looking at the diagrams but don't see it with the injection pump diagram or the fuel system diagram.

If I were you I would look in the general vicinity. Maybe directly on the side of the block above the filter housings.

Try to depress the "cover plate."
I think you will find that it moves up and down with a side benefit of pumping fuel. ;)

LMAO, if that pans out to be the case….well I’ll be in your debt.

Will report back tomorrow.
May take a video if things don’t go favorably so you see what I see.

Alrighty, I went and messed with that knob using a bit more force, no go.
Not sure if the bleed/prime pump is seized, or if mine simply doesn’t have that feature.

The file attachment feature wouldn’t allow a video, please see pictures.

I looks like that thing on the top of the filter housing has to be it... not sure if it'll mater but did you open the bleed screw first to make sure the pumper isn't air locked somehow?

I have never found one that stuck, mush straight down using some force, they are very stiff to depress.
Attack it like it owes you money!!

I don't have anything to add @Aeromechanick other than to say that your M105SHD has one very nice and well maintained engine compartment. Impressive for a tractor of that vintage. Nice job!

Yeah I gave it hell.
I don’t have little bish hands either 🤣

The knob is pancaked down onto the lower housing. I removed the knob and sprayed the lower brass section with pen-oil, will see how that goes. So far no joy.

I looked up replacement parts and you can clearly see the knob is elevated, and even a spring below that would enable pumping action. Mine doesn’t have that. I’ve also lifted the feature with damn near eagle tallon force…it won’t budge.

She 22 years old, happy to throw some OEM parts at it.
Will keep everyone posted until resolution so this thread helps anyone else.

SINCERELY appreciate each of you!
❤

Maybe a non-oem brand? Yours looks different from the OEM.

I looked up the part # on K-Pad and then searched for that part.
The OEM has the knob on top that the manual refers to,

Sorry for the late reply
