Why is there oil in the clutch housing? Pulled plug to drain about a gallon of rusty-brown transmission-like fluid, not motor oil. Recently bought this tractor, 3600 hrs, everything else seems ok, It runs good, pulls good. I drained and replaced the transmission fluid and the old oil did not look like this. The manual doesn’t call for oil in the clutch housing. New Kubota owner. Any ideas? Thanks.

I believe the M105s has a hydraulic shuttle shift with two clutch packs that run on an oil bath, one for reverse and another for forward movement. I've been wrong before though. LOL

Get a Workshop Manual (WSM) if you can. I didn't see one on Kubotabooks.com maybe someone here on OTT has one.

There's no actual clutch in there, just a damper disk. I'd keep an eye on it. There may also be coolant freeze plugs in there that could be leaking.

Likely canidates are:
1: Front Wheel drive propeller shaft seals
