Hi, I am wondering if anyone has came up with a homemade or store bought product to hold the rear window open on the M series rear window... we use our tractors for snow removal and would like to crack the window open a few inches. TIA
Can't you simply open the side windows? My M6060 has a large rear window and two rear side windows (see below).Hi, I am wondering if anyone has came up with a homemade or store bought product to hold the rear window open on the M series rear window... we use our tractors for snow removal and would like to crack the window open a few inches. Thanks. our tractors don't have side windows. pictures would be nice. online the latch look to have same mounting holesMy MX rear window has a feature to crack the rear glass and lock it in place via the latch. When I get back I'll look and see if the MX latch would fit the M glass. Maybe there's a way to swap out your M rear latch for a part from another model.
I'm back in MT and will look today once I get the tractors fired up for snow removal. I have the original rear glass out of the MX (I uprgraded to rear defrost) and I also have new rear glass with defrost for the M so can look at the hole size and placement for the latch and see if it might be an option for you. I'll take photos and post them later today. And even if the MX and M latches are interchangeable, this wouldn't be of help to you if your M tractors don't have the same holes as the M6060/M7060.Thanks. our tractors don't have side windows. pictures would be nice. online the latch look to have same mounting holes
wow... that's what I'm looking for... I just don't have the mounting pieces welded to my frame. I could add them tho. not sure what Kubota wouldn't add this to all tractors@Jerferrera, I took a closer look at the rear windows of the M6060 and MX and there's good news and bad news. The holes in the glass are spaced the same at 60mm but the MX has a much more elaborate system to open the rear glass a little and secure it in place.
I think it would be possible to modify a tractor to work with the MX system but I can't say if the view is worth the climb. The MX doesn't have rear side windows so it makes sense that it has the rear latch feature.

The assembly shown above isn't particularly expensive, maybe $100 all in, and you wouldn't have to weld on the three tabs shown below. You could make up brackets and bolt them to the frame if you added rivet nuts or similar. Lots of ways to retrofit the necessary interface to work with the half lock bracket.wow... that's what I'm looking for... I just don't have the mounting pieces welded to my frame.
