Can a LX3310Hst (ROPS) with a loader and grapple balance out a RCF2060 rotary cutter? I really like the build quality of RCF2060 but I’m concerned with the weight on Lx3310.
Yes, leaving your FEL attached, especially with a heavy grapple mounted will more than compensate for the weight of a 620+ Lb. rotary cutter but at the expense of maneuverability, and it takes HP to move weight. Without the FEL you will certainly need front weights.
Keep in mind that the 3310 Operator's Manual specifies 500 Lbs. maximum for a rotary cutter and the 2060 is more than 20% above this limit even without optional chain shielding. Add 100 Lbs. or so if you specify chain shielding.
I would certainly use a lighter cutter with a 3310.
HP should not be an issue in most circumstances unless you plan to mow heavy heavy cover on steep slopes in which case all bets are off.
